Jimmer Fredette fan reaction to NBA draft

PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) - It was Jimmer mania at its fullest Thursday with many Utahns holding their breath that BYU star Jimmer Fredette would get drafted to the Utah Jazz during the 2011 NBA draft.
Jimmer’s friends have been waiting for this day as long as Jimmer himself and when the Jazz got their first pick in the 2011 NBA draft at number three, it wasn’t Jimmer.  But there was applause anyway.
Then tension and nerves mounted for another half an hour until the 10th pick by the Sacramento Kings.  When Jimmer’s name was called, his friends at the watch party erupted in cheers and applause.  Jimmer’s friends were elated to see his basketball dream come true.
Sean Bingham says, “To have somebody that you are friends with that you lived near during his magical season it was pretty incredible to watch him get drafted and to feel like you were at least somewhat a part of it.”
Of course they would have loved for Jimmer to come back to Utah where is fan base is enormous, but they say Sacramento will be a great move for him.  Whitney Myler says, “I mean we’re all a little sad, I mean I’m from California, but I like to see the Jazz do well so it’d have been fun to see him play on the Jazz.  I mean the fan base would have been huge but I’m happy for him at the Kings he’ll do great wherever he is.”  Justin Hedin adds, “All around you can’t ever complain with being in the NBA especially being in a lottery pick so I’m happy for him.”
So, no Jimmer for the Utah Jaz but they did pick up Enes Kanter in their first pick at number three, and Alec Burks at number 12.
